Bare Acts & Prelims 2 étapes
  1. Master the Bare Acts

Develop photographic memory for major laws and procedural codes to ace the objective Prelims.

Tâche concrète: Take a 100-question MCQ test exclusively on the Code of Criminal Procedure timeline, focusing on days, periods, and authorities.

Pourquoi c’est important: Prelims are purely a test of brute memorization and accuracy; mastering the bare text guarantees clearing the cutoff.

    Liste de contrôle

    • Procure Universal/LexisNexis Bare Acts for CPC, CrPC, IPC, Evidence, and Constitution.
    • Memorize index, chapters, section numbers, and illustrations.
    • Learn the specific local laws (rent control, land revenue) of the respective state.
    • Solve at least 500 MCQs daily focusing on bare act language.
    Ouvrir cette étape ↑
  2. Analyze Landmark Precedents

Understand core Supreme Court and High Court judgments that shape the interpretation of the law.

Tâche concrète: Write a 1-page summary of the basic structure doctrine evolution from Kesavananda Bharati to minerva mills, noting specific articles challenged.

Pourquoi c’est important: Questions on recent precedents are a massive trend in judicial exams, differentiating top candidates from the average.

    Liste de contrôle

    • Create a list of 100+ landmark constitutional and criminal rulings.
    • Stay updated on latest Supreme Court judgments via LiveLaw/Bar&Bench.
    • Understand the legal principles (ratio decidendi) of each major case.
    • Link judgments directly back to the bare act sections they interpret.
    Ouvrir cette étape ↑
Mains (Judgment Writing) 2 étapes
  1. Perfect Judgment Writing & Framing Charges

Learn the precise judicial craft of writing reasoned orders and framing criminal charges or civil issues.

Tâche concrète: Read a raw FIR and charge sheet of a basic theft case and draft a complete magistrate-level judgment of conviction.

Pourquoi c’est important: Judgment writing is the most high-scoring paper in the Mains exam and tests actual on-the-job competency.

    Liste de contrôle

    • Understand the format of a criminal judgment (marshalling and appreciating evidence).
    • Practice framing exact charges under IPC.
    • Practice framing issues in a civil suit under CPC.
    • Draft judgments in a time-bound manner (typically under 1 hour per judgment).
    Ouvrir cette étape ↑
  2. Conquer Substantive Law and Languages

Write deep, analytical answers for civil and criminal law papers while mastering translation.

Tâche concrète: Translate a 300-word paragraph from a recent Supreme Court judgment into your state's regional language without changing the legal meaning.

Pourquoi c’est important: In many states, the Language/Translation paper is a strict qualifier—failing it means your law papers won't even be evaluated.

    Liste de contrôle

    • Prepare concise notes on Hindu Law, Muslim Law, Torts, and Contracts.
    • Practice essay writing on contemporary legal and social issues.
    • Dedicate 1 hour daily to translating legal passages (English to state language and vice versa).
    • Practice precis writing to summarize large legal texts.
    Ouvrir cette étape ↑
Interview & selection 1 étapes
  1. Tackle the Personality Test

Face an interview panel of High Court Judges and demonstrate a calm, judicious temperament.

Tâche concrète: Participate in a mock interview setup with law professors or serving/retired judges and request brutal feedback on your body language.

Pourquoi c’est important: Judges are not looking for advocates in the interview; they are evaluating if you possess the maturity, integrity, and neutrality to sit on the bench.

    Liste de contrôle

    • Prepare answers on your background, hometown, and law school journey.
    • Anticipate practical, situational 'what-if' questions from the bench.
    • Brush up on new legislative bills, amendments, and current affairs.
    • Practice maintaining a neutral, non-argumentative demeanor.
    Ouvrir cette étape ↑
Judicial Academy 1 étapes
  1. State Judicial Academy Training

Undergo intensive practical training to transition from a student of law to an administrator of justice.

Tâche concrète: Draft a weekly roster plan for managing a heavy docket of 100+ case files while allocating time for evidence recording vs final arguments.

Pourquoi c’est important: The academy bridges the gap between theoretical law and the gritty realism of managing overwhelmed subordinate courts.

    Liste de contrôle

    • Report to the Judicial Academy and learn court management and administrative duties.
    • Master the technicalities of recording evidence in real-time.
    • Sit with senior judges (court attachment) to observe docket management.
    • Take independent charge of your court as a Civil Judge (Junior Division).
