5 missions jusqu’à Graphic Designer
3 mondes, 5 missions. Touchez un cercle pour l’ouvrir ; celui qui brille est le suivant.
Software changes, but the rules of aesthetics do not. You must train your eye to understand why a design looks 'good' before you touch Photoshop.
The Adobe Creative Suite is the industry standard. You must develop muscle memory for its hotkeys and workflows.
A graphic designer without a portfolio is unemployed. Build a body of work that proves you can execute.

Toutes les étapes en détail

Design Fundamentals 2 étapes
Master Typography & Layout
Typography is 80% of graphic design. Poor font choices instantly reveal an amateur.
Tâche concrète: Find a local business's poorly designed flyer or menu. Redesign it using only two fonts and black-and-white text. Rely entirely on font weight, scale, and negative space to make the hierarchy clear and beautiful. No imagery allowed.
Pourquoi c’est important: If your layout fails without color and images, it is structurally flawed. Typography forces you to focus on the pure communication of the design.
Liste de contrôle
- Understand Serif vs. Sans-Serif vs. Display fonts, and when to use each
- Learn kerning, tracking, and leading (managing the space between text)
- Master typographical hierarchy (H1, H2, body text balance)
- Understand grid systems and the Rule of Thirds in layout design
- Learn the power of negative space (white space) — what you leave empty is as important as what you fill
Color Theory & Composition
Color evokes emotion and guides the eye.
Tâche concrète: Take the black-and-white menu layout you created previously. Create 3 new variations of it by applying distinct color palettes: one monochromatic, one complementary, one analogous. Use a tool like Coolors.co to generate the palettes.
Pourquoi c’est important: Mismatched colors immediately look cheap. Knowing how to construct a palette mathematically ensures your work looks cohesive and professional.
Liste de contrôle
- Understand the color wheel, primary, secondary, and tertiary colors
- Learn color harmonies (Monochromatic, Analogous, Complementary)
- Understand color psychology (e.g., Blue = trust, Red = urgency)
- Learn to check contrast ratios for accessibility
- Understand RGB (for screens) vs. CMYK (for print)
Learn the Industry Tools 2 étapes
Vector Graphics (Adobe Illustrator)
Illustrator is used for logos, icons, and scalable graphics. Vectors never lose quality when zoomed in.
Tâche concrète: Find a complex, famous logo (like the Starbucks siren or the Apple logo). Trace it manually using ONLY the Pen tool in Illustrator. Do not use image trace. Guarantee every curve is smooth by minimizing the number of anchor points.
Pourquoi c’est important: Logos designed in Photoshop (pixels) will blur when printed on a billboard. Becoming fluent in vectors guarantees your work is industry-ready for print or scale.
Liste de contrôle
- Master the Pen Tool (the hardest but most important tool in Illustrator)
- Learn the Pathfinder tool to combine and subtract shapes
- Understand vector masks and clipping paths
- Manipulate typography by turning text into outlines
- Learn to export correctly (.SVG, .EPS format)
Raster Graphics (Adobe Photoshop)
Photoshop is for photo manipulation, compositing, and mockups.
Tâche concrète: Take a photo of a person on a busy street background. Use masking tools to perfectly extract the person (including loose hair). Place them onto a completely different background, and use adjustment layers to match the lighting and color balance so the composition looks real.
Pourquoi c’est important: Showing clients a flat logo is boring. Showing a client their logo realistically masked onto a coffee cup or storefront usually seals the deal.
Liste de contrôle
- Master non-destructive editing using adjustment layers (never edit the original pixels)
- Master layer masks (never use the eraser tool)
- Learn to use the healing brush and clone stamp tools properly
- Understand blending modes (Multiply, Screen, Overlay, etc.)
- Learn how to drop your Illustrator logos onto realistic 3D mockups (t-shirts, billboards)
Brand Identity & Portfolio 1 étapes
Develop 3-5 Strong Case Studies
Do not just post random, disjointed images. Show complete brand ecosystems.
Tâche concrète: Reach out to a local non-profit or a friend starting a small business. Offer to design their logo and brand guidelines for free or a massive discount. Deal with their feedback, revise the design, and deliver a final 'Brand Guidelines PDF' that includes rules on how (and how not) to use the logo.
Pourquoi c’est important: Fictional projects are great, but dealing with an actual client who gives frustrating feedback is real-world experience you need before applying to an agency.
Liste de contrôle
- Create a full brand identity for a fictional local coffee shop: Logo, typography system, color palette, menu, and cup mockups
- Design a digital ad campaign for a fictional tech startup (Instagram posts, Facebook banners)
- Create an editorial/print layout (like a 4-page magazine spread) using Adobe InDesign
- Ensure every project clearly states the 'Client problem' and how your design 'Solved it'
- Post the curated projects to Behance or Dribbble
